Nine...

Nine years to be exact. Nine years ago today Lexi's birth changed our lives forever. Changes that have brought so much love and richness into our day to day world. How lucky we are to have such an amazing spirit in our family. She's kind and considerate. Loving and compassionate. She responsible way beyond her years and there are times we have to remind her to just BE A KID! She loves to read and to write. To be artistic and creative. To learn new things and appreciate old traditions. She's a great big sister, so patient and caring. Sometimes I look at her and my heart aches to see how much she is like me, knowing some of the struggles she will probably face in life because of her soft heart and her over-developed sense of worry. But mostly I look at her in amazement of the gift we received the day she was born. The gift that we get to cherish each and every day. A gift that I will never take for granted.

We always let the girls pick a special dinner out for their birthdays…

Function First...

I realize I haven't shared very many pictures of our new house with you all yet. Sorry for that. It's just that since we moved and I have lacked a consistent source of significant income, we haven't really gotten to do much for home improvement projects. And while we love our new home, it needs some new paint and some art on the walls before it really reflects us. I'm hoping with my business opening at the onset of October that we'll soon have a few extra $$$s to start sprucing up the place. (At least that's my wishful thinking!)

But today I introduce you to...our shower head...

Now imagine with me, if you will, walking into a bathroom twice the size of our old bathroom to the the sight of a claw-foot tub outfitted with this adorable porcelain shower head. Love! Can I tell you how much I love the size of our new bathroom AND the fact I finally have my very own claw-foot tub?

Claw.

Foot.

Tub.

Need I say more?

Unfortunately what we discovered is that the porcelain showe…

Got Spirit...

Because the girls don't yet have any Carlisle Wildcat wear...

Because right now in life I have more time than money...

Because I'm not one to back down from a crafty challenge...

Because Friday nights at the football field can get a little cool...

Because even though I rolled my eyes at the fact Lexi was so EXCITED to attend the cheer clinic this week and hang with the cheerleaders during last night's game, I once was a GHS Bulldog and understand what it's like to wear your school colors with pride...

Go Wildcats!

Play...

We took a short bike ride to the part after school today. Since I use this bag as my camera bag, Remi went along.

Lexi brought along a small notebook to write down things that we saw.

Brea brought along herself.

I'm still working on figuring out my Lensbaby.

It's not going as well as I would like.

Happy fall fun to all!

Story of a Preschooler...

Starting preschool has been something Brea has been looking forward to since March. She was under the impression that AS SOON AS YOU TURN 4 you get to start school. Imagine how long the wait for this fall has seemed in her little world. But it has come and she couldn't have been more excited when she woke up on Monday. The first words out of her mouth to me were, "TODAY IS MY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!"

Excited I tell you.

Preschool in Carlisle is provided through the school district, which is pretty cool for a couple of reasons:
Every 4 year old in the district is guaranteed a spot. (Nice for those of us who became part of the district a little later during the registration process.) The preschool classrooms are located in the lower elementary building, which excites Brea since she's going to the same school as her big sister.Since the preschool program is funded through a grant, we don't have to pay tuition. (Nice for those of us trying to get a new business establish…
